Software Freedom Day

SFD is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high-quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business — in short, everywhere! The non-profit organization Software Freedom International coordinates SFD at a global level, providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboration, but volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their communities.

SFD is going to be celebrated in Nepal and the event details are:

Nepal Open Source Klub, NOSK

NOSK-Nepal Open Source Club has been around from 2008 and is initiated by the free and open-source enthusiasts at Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT). NOSK organizes and facilitates many of the technical activities that are held at college, and has been organizing “Software Freedom Day (SFD)” in Nepal. Since 2006 Software Freedom Day has been held on the Every Third Saturday of September.
