Mechi Multiple Campus is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University in Bhadrapur municipality of Jhapa district. Founded in 1964,
it is the only constituent campus of Tribhuvan University in the district.As of September 2014, there were 109 academic and 54 administrative staffs employed at the college.Since June 2016, the college administration has been headed by Kamal Guragain, who is often referred to as “campus chief”.
To begin with, the college offered an Intermediate of Arts (IA) program in humanities, which was soon followed by undergraduate programs. At present, the college runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The intermediate programs were fully scrapped in 2010, following Tribhuvan University’s decision to phase out Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) programs from its colleges. This termination of PCL programs brought about a sharp decline in the number of students at the college.
Bachelor of Computer Application
Mechi Multiple Campus established in 2021 BS (1964 AD) is the only constituent Campus of TU in Bhadrapur Municipality Corporation, Jhapa district Nepal. This campus has been fulfilling the social responsibility by providing higher education in nominal fees to all and the economical backward students. Initially the campus started with the proficiency certificate level, followed by graduation program and at present the campus has Post-Graduate programs. The campus is planning to add new graduation and Post-Graduation program in Humanities, Management and Science to produce efficient, technically skilled, Job-Oriented man power to fulfill the social demands in the national and international level. Eventually it is planning to start Medical Science, Engineering and Tea Science. Besides the general subjects, the future plan is to make this institution a technical and Research-Oriented College.
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) BCA Programme: Tribhuvan University has provided affiliation to launch Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) programme, first time in Nepal at Mechi Multiple Campus for the academic session of 2076/77. BCA 1S a four-year, eight semester program which intention is to develops Within students a range of competencies in problem analysis and solving techniques, business skills and software design and development.
The Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application aims to produce Skilled computer software developers with sound technical background and knowledge to develop well designed, robust and reusable computer-based solutions to a range of problems in businesses and industries.
The BCA graduates from Mechi Multiple Campus are prepared tO enter in Internet, intranet, network and mobile application design and development, system analysis, object-oriented programming, multimedia, testing and quality assurance, project management or database de- Sign and administration. Objectives: The course aim to Train students to create solutions of the problems related to infor- mation systems commercial, Financial, governmental, or other types of organization, Provide knowledge on various tools, concepts and techniques of software developmet , Prepare students for career in dynamic and continually evolving fields of computer science, Build up sound verbal and writen communication skills, Provide solid foundation for further studies leading to MCA, MIT, MS Computer Science and MBA. Medium of instruction and examination: The medium of instruction and examination in the BCA programnme shall be English.
Entry requirement: The entry requirement for student in BCA iS intermediate level or Higher level (10+2) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with at least second division (45%) marks or D+ grade in each subject of grade 11 and 12 with CGPA 2.0. Beside the basic academic requirement, an entrance examination will be conducted for all applicants.
