Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a four years degree run by TU, PU, Purbanchal, and other universities in Nepal. The main focus of the course is application development. Students can seek their careers as software developers after the completion of the course. Apart from that students can also work in different areas like design and multimedia, network, network security, system administration, and so on.

Core computer courses are similar in every computer-related degree however the main focus of the course differs. If we go through the syllabus of BCA then we will find that the main focus of the course is towards programming. Students will encounter lots of programming languages throughout the BCA degree. Moreover, they have to develop lots of projects using a different programming language. At the final semester, students will have to do internship in IT industries according to their interest area.

Eligibility Criteria for BCA

Students who want to enroll in the BCA program conducted by TU must have successfully passed a +2 or equivalent exam recognized by TU with a minimum of 45% or 2.0 CGPA. Along with that students must score at least a D+ grade in each of the subjects in their +2 exam.

Admission Criteria for BCA

Interested candidates must appear and pass the BCA Entrance Exam conducted by TU, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science. Interested candidates can fill the BCA entrance form from any college running a BCA program affiliated to TU. Once they pass the BCA entrance exam they can enroll in any college running TU BCA. However, the college must have seats for admission. Each of the colleges running the BCA program has limited seats therefore it is advised to fill the entrance form from the college where they want to study BCA.
